- Pattern Approval Certification for measuring instruments

According to the Law of Metrology and relevant Regulations, measuring instruments imported from abroad may be sold in China only after being verified and found in compliance with the standards issued by the metrological administrative department of the people's government at or above the provincial level. The Pattern Approval is legally mandatory for those products, which are covered by the Lists of Pattern Approval Certification.

The common Pattern Approval process includes:

1. Submitting an Application,
2. Initial Review,
3. Type Testing,
4. Final Review,
5. Issuance of Certificate.

A better understanding of the regulations may lead to an expedited approval of measuring instruments.

*A temporary Pattern Approval may be issued for measuring instruments at certain case.
